We are looking for a talented computer vision engineer that is passionate about technology and who is motived to help drive our customers’ and company mission forward. This individual will be a key member of a team translating real-world needs into technical solutions. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, a quick learner, and able to balance simultaneous tasks while delivering quality results. The computer vision engineer will be responsible for supporting the design, development, and analysis of high-performance deep learning algorithms at our customer site in Fort Belvoir, VA.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Develop, evaluate, and optimize various deep learning models for computer vision tasks
- Conduct data analysis and exploration to gain insights on large, unstructured data sets with numerous variables
- Design, develop, and distribute internal Python tools for data cleaning, analysis, and visualization
- Optimize code for memory efficiency and speed using various data structures, operations, and libraries
- Test software deliveries, provide feedback, and recommend courses of action to reach project objectives
- Generate charts, infographics, tables, and visual images to convey data analyses and algorithm evaluations
- Ensure software documentation accuracy to improve user adoption, save support time and costs, and allow for easier maintenance
- Prepare, revise, and present technical information on a weekly basis to project team and agency partners
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of developers, engineers, and statisticians using git-based code hosting and collaboration tools
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or applicable engineering or science field
- Experience in computer vision and/or deep learning for object detection and classification
- Experience with any machine/deep learning frameworks like Tensorflow, Keras, and PyTorch
- Proficiency in Python and related packages like numpy, pandas, scikit-image, opencv, matplotlib, seaborn, etc.
- Understanding of popular metrics used to evaluate computer vision tasks like ROC curves, confusion matrices, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively communicating with the team and presenting information to varied technical and non-technical audiences
