Description The Infrastructure Intern will work with the infrastructure department learning to assess, configure, and maintain technological infrastructure systems to ensure they meet an organization's business needs. They will learn how to evaluate existing systems and determine ways to better align those systems to support business operations for increased efficiency. During the internship, the infrastructure intern will get hands on experience assisting with installation, integration, and maintenance of equipment and programs and provide ongoing tech support.
- Learn to support the organization's technology strategy by delivering optimal service to technology end users.
- Learn how to use an ITSM tool, and other resources used for IT support.
- Assist and support the IT help desk.
- Helps coordinate the maintenance of essential IT operations (i.e., operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware)
- Collaborate with the Facilities team to implement IT solutions (i.e., TV cabling)
- Assists in maintaining IT policies and SOPs.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software.
- Creates and presents key takeaways of internship program, including learning outcomes and career path interests.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications - Active enrollment and pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology or related field.
- Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer (late may through early August).
- Basic knowledge network systems, cyber security solutions, and desktop support.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Personable and customer service oriented.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Willing to physically work in Midland, Texas.
