The shift will be Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Cultivation/Integrated Pest Specialist
IPM scouting is recorded in a digital software platform thereby enabling the Cultivation/IPM specialist to analyze the data and make informed decisions to the IPM program. Our Cultivation/Integrated Pest Specialist will be accountable for interpreting this data and making data driven decisions regarding applying all pesticides/fungicides and administering all beneficial insects in a safe, planned, and effective manner that is compliant with all laws and regulations inside the state.
Your role in caring for our plants:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for management of pest and diseases
- Perform scouting and record data in software program
- Manage beneficial and curative spray program and monitor efficacy
- Manage biological program and monitor efficacy
- Make action plans based on interpreting scouting reports in software program.
- Communicate field availability and quality issues to management on a daily basis
- Facilitate and document trials of new products prior to applying to entire crop
- Maintaining up-to-date records of spray applications
- Develop and roll out inspection plans for raw materials to storing, palletizing, and shipping of the finished product to assure pest-free products
- Maintain records of pest and disease trends and report trends and mitigation strategies on a weekly basis to management
- Maintain library of insect specimens
- Monitor Environment in software program
- Temperature and Humidity Tracking
- Leaf Temperature Tracking
- Monitor temperature changes
- Maintain vendor relationships
- Calls as often as necessary on efficacy of products
- Alignment with Koppert on application rates and strategies
- Maintain orders and order frequency within budget
- Develop and optimize canopy maintenance strategies for each variety
- Create weekly reports on Harvest post processing - How much loss was caused by insects or diseases
- Crop registration, weekly leaf samples, and weekly water samples
- Create and edit Standard Operating Procedures; update as necessary
- Maintain Grodan GroSens and CaraMet substrate monitoring systems
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications we ask you to have:
- For legal reasons, all employees need to be at least 21 years of age.
- You will be asked to pass a Federal and State criminal history background check.
- We ask that you have a Bachelor of Science in horticulture, agriculture, entomology, plant science or plant pathology.
- We ask that you have three (3) years IPM experience.
Addition skills which will help you excel in your role:
- Willing and able to work in 85+ degree temperatures in greenhouse with up to 80% humidity.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to be coachable and takes full ownership of personal development. Regularly solicits feedback from teammates above, below, and adjacent; as well as demonstrating the ability to learn agility by making clear behavior changes.
- Ability to foster collaboration and team environment.

- Ability to maintain strong attention to detail throughout entire shift.
- We ask that you do not have allergies to plant materials or nitrile gloves; job requires daily exposure to cannabis plants and nitrile gloves.
- Ability to follow specific protocols and strictly adhere to Standard Operating Procedures.

- This position requires an inordinate amount of sitting, walking, kneeling, bending, scooping, twisting and reaching in full range of motion to complete physical tasks
- Must be capable of sitting for extended periods of time, lift objects on a regular basis, and perform daily repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 80lbs assisted.
- As this is a cannabis growing facility, there will be strong odors, bright lights, and various noises throughout the workday.
- Employees are asked to wear scrubs, masks, gloves, and hairnets while working with the plants. DCM will provide scrubs, gloves, and hair nets to all employees.
