(Physician/MD qualifications required) Internal Medicine - Internal Medicine Lake Charles LA

Provides comprehensive internal practice medical care in a community health center.
Responsibilities:
Provides the full range of out-patient comprehensive family practice medical care to include, but not limited to medical diagnosis, medical treatment, medical follow up care, health promotion and disease prevention, medical consultation, medical referrals and urgent|emergency medical care, including medical care to pediatrics (including newborns) through senior citizens. Refers patients for hospitalization as necessary and coordinates in-patient care. Provides follow-up care to out-patients and in-patients. Supervises and provides consultative service to mid-level practitioners. Provides consultative services to the nursing staff and other physicians .Precepts Medical Students, Nurse Practitioner students and Residents as assigned. Participates in the Agencys in-service training program. Rotates on-call schedule for nights, weekends and holidays. Actively participates in the Improving Organizational Performance Program, which includes but is not limited to Infection Control, Health and Safety Program, Emergency Preparedness Program, Risk Management Program and Medical Staff programmatic activities
