Job Description

This position is responsible for receiving, maintaining, and distributing parts, supplies, mail, fuel, and equipment from the Parks Operation warehouse to locations throughout Community Services. The position must complete cycle counts, physical inventories, and operate all inventory related computer software, devices, and mechanical equipment.
Essential Duties

• Deliver materials and fuel to DoCS facilities, and maintain accurate records of delivery
• Maintain a database for tracking inventory and purchasing information
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and initiate purchase orders
• Receive and verify shipment contents, and distribute inventory
• Pull inventory for various Department warehouse orders
• Label inventory for easy tracking and identification
• Maintain accurate inventory 
• Operate a forklift 
• Use general office equipment which includes a computer, and applicable software applications  
• Provide customer service 
• Communication - interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with c oworkers, supervisor, and the general public, sufficient to exchange or convey information and receive work direction

 

Grade

The grade for this position is A132. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.

Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program. 

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Two years of warehouse or inventory control experience
• An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered
• Valid driver's license  
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of employment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

The 14 departments that make up the executive side are Police Services, Fire and Emergency Services, Corrections, Communications, Support Services, Financial Services, Community Services, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, Law, Planning and Development, Water Resources, Child Advocacy & Juvenile Services, and Transportation. Each department is run by a director who is charged with managing operations in a manner that stresses the County’s values.

 
In addition to the executive side of County government, certain services are provided through Constitutional officers and independent elected officials. These external offices are created by the Georgia Constitution or through state law. In Gwinnett, they include the Sheriff, Tax Commissioner, District Attorney, Solicitor, Probate Court Judge, and Chief Magistrate.
