Job Description:
Bennington-Rutland Supervisory Union is seeking a Music Teacher to join our team of collaborative and enthusiastic staff, dedicated to helping students achieve their fullest potential. In this 1.0 FTE position, the Music Teacher will deliver a comprehensive music education program to elementary school students at Currier Memorial School (0.50 FTE) and Sunderland Elementary School (0.50 FTE) as part of the Unified Arts Rotation. The ideal candidate will be a strong, collaborative team member who is committed to continuing to work on their teaching practice through professional development both individually and as a team.

The arts are a deeply valued component of our schools and community. The Music Teacher develops in each student a lifelong interest in and appreciation of music as a fundamental expression of human emotion. In this position, the Music Teacher enables students to experience the beauty, emotional intensity, and thoughtfulness of music and musical expression. Utilizing a variety of musical experiences that include making, studying, interpreting, evaluating, and performing music, the Music Teacher provides a safe and inclusive learning environment where artistic risk-taking, discovery, and experimentation are welcome.

Applicants are expected to have knowledge in current instructional research and evidence-based instructional practices. Strong candidates will demonstrate a student-centered approach, exemplary oral and written communication skills, and strong relationship building skills with students. Candidates should have strong skills as a general music teacher for elementary school students in Grades K-6, choral music for Grades (3-6), and instrumental music for Grades (4-6).

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor degree Holds or is eligible to hold a Vermont Teaching License with appropriate endorsement Experience in General Music, Vocal Music, and Instrumental Music instruction Copies of transcripts and license(s) must be uploaded to the application for all licensed positions. Successful applicants to Licensed positions will be required to provide official transcripts to Human Resources before completion of the hiring process. Preferences: 3-12 PreK-12 Music endorsement is preferred
