About the Role & Program
Disney Entertainment Television (DET) is a collection of renowned content brands at The Walt Disney Company creating original entertainment and news programming for the company’s streaming platforms Disney+, Hulu and Star, and its broadcast and cable networks! Its extensive portfolio is comprised of ABC Entertainment, ABC News, ABC Owned Television Stations, Disney Branded Television, Freeform, FX, Hulu Originals, National Geographic Content and Onyx Collective, in addition to Disney Television Studios, which include 20th Television, 20th Television Animation, ABC Signature and Walt Disney Television Alternative!
What You Will Do
As an intern on the Labor Relations team you will assist in providing day-to-day support for DET specific collective bargaining agreements through project work, consultations, grievances, and resolution of labor-management issues. This position will report to Executive Counsel for the team. Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
Review and present data for collective bargaining negotiations with entertainment industry labor unions
Analyze and draft collective bargaining agreements
Research and write analysis of applicable labor law
Draft responses to grievances, information requests and other legal documents
Conduct legal research to share with internal and external audiences
Supporting projects and initiatives
Required Qualifications & Skills
Ability to quickly understand and follow complex, detailed technical instructions
Experience handling confidential information
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Work well under pressure and manage fluctuating priorities
High functional knowledge of Microsoft Office
Passion for working within the television/entertainment industry
Education
Pursuing a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree and currently enrolled at an accredited law school, 1L or 2L
Entertainment-related coursework
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program
Additional Information
The approximate dates of this internship are May 2024 through August 2024
Able to work 40 hrs per week, Monday through Friday, 9am - 6pm PST
Must provide own transportation/housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank, CA area
