Job description
An industry leading structural steel solutions company in Des Moines, Iowa is seeking a Structural Engineer to join their successful and growing team. This multi-family owned company offers a laid back culture while priding themselves on their customer-centric processes.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing structures in a safe and efficient manner while communicating with the customer to ensure their project requirements are met. You will design structural components for industrial projects, considering codes, safety requirements, cost, and construction constraints. You will also analyze configurations of structural components under various loads and stress conditions while using software and modeling tools for structural simulation and analysis. It is critical you ensure projects meet applicable codes, regulations, and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in structural analysis software and proficient in AutoCAD. Having knowledge of Inventor or SolidWorks is also beneficial. A bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering is required and it is recommended you should be working toward Professional Engineer licensure. You should have excellent problem solving, analytical, and communication skills as well as a strong understanding of commercial agriculture and construction methods.
