Data Governance
Duties:
- The Enterprise Data Governance Policy & Program Office creates and maintains Data Governance (DG) policies, frameworks, standards, guidance and roles for the enterprise, and establishes the oversight and accountability to drive their adoption and compliance. It ensures that our company s data has a high degree of reliability and integrity. The Enterprise Data Governance Policy & Program Office team s mission is to maximize data value for business stakeholders, reduce company risk, and to create consistent and trusted data throughout its lifecycle.
- The contractor role requires fundamental knowledge across a broad spectrum of governance activities, however there is a focus on the design and requirements for metadata management and an analysis of current Enterprise Data Governance assets and processes designed to enable the sharing of metadata. They will work with individuals including those who manage processes, technology and data, to assess their current state, proposed tools or processes and advise on the best paths for intersection with the central Enterprise Data Governance Tool - Collibra.
- In this role the incumbent will partner with business and technical leaders and subject matter experts to identify guidance and requirements that support the standardization of governance requirements & processes and optimizes the end users experience using our metadata management assets
Responsibilities
- Assess the current state of Alation and our clients metadata Repository (MDR). Identify current end users and predominant use cases for each, as well as known gaps from an end user s target state.
- Identify current technology and business metadata that is resident in Alation and MDR repositories. Identify current opportunities to enrich that metadata based on input from the Enterprise Data Governance tool - Collibra
- Document the requirements and standards to establish minimal enterprise governance for these repositories and create standards outlining the flow of metadata from Collibra to Alation and MDR.
- Identify gaps and alignment between current processes and governance requirements; recommend changes to improve metadata enrichment and management for business and analytical teams end users.
- Leverage expertise in governance and technical knowledge, as well as influencing skills to support the onboarding of metadata from the EDG Governance tool - Collibra into metadata repositories.
- Assist in the assessment of proposed new governance tools, identify their synergies with current suite of tools or where duplication of capabilities will result or where gaps will persist.
- Collaborate with critical stakeholders to design and develop plans to monitor usage, identify gaps and establish remediation efforts.
- Apply critical thinking to assess and optimize the use of data governance tooling innovations and lessons learned to best advance the objectives of the Enterprise Data Governance policy.
Skills:
- Experience with data governance, metadata, data quality, and/or reporting processes and tools; Collibra and Alation experience a plus
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a healthcare business environment
- Knowledge of our client lines of business or products; and/or hands on experience with data management (medical, provider, claims, clinical, pharmacy, eligibility etc.) is a plus
- Ability to convey complex data concepts via visual techniques to succinctly communicate
- Self-motivated to do what it takes to achieve success and navigate in a highly-matrixed environment
- Ability to manage timelines and meet tight deadlines
- Experience working in Agile project management (SAFe experience a plus)

Education:
- Bachelor s degree, relevant experience or higher education degree in a healthcare, business, governance, computer science or related field preferred
