POSITION SUMMARY

The Channel Sales Manager Supports the organization to win new business and extend the Matthews brand by supporting our existing Channel Partners (Distributors) in an assigned geographic territory.  This role analyzes business opportunities with our Channel Partners, makes joint sales calls, develops co-marketing strategies, holds quarterly business review meetings, and works to identify new market opportunities for the Channel Partners.

This position is work from home with 30%-50% travel and can be performed from anywhere in the United States

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Leads and actively participates in the Business Development of the Channel Partners in assigned territory
•    Conducts Quarterly Business Review meetings to review recent sales, open opportunities, SWOT and Gap Analysis, recent payment history, and status of co-marketing initiatives. 
•    Work with Channel Partners on multiple strategies to extend Matthews brand and grow the sales and market penetration of Matthews products and services
•   Monitors market trends and evaluates competitor strategies in support of the Channel Partners' ongoing growth.
•   Conduct Channel Partner Sales and Service training to achieve technical proficiency in our products and services.  
•   Supports Channel Partners by quoting prices, delivery, credit terms, and preparing contracts.
•   Develops customer intelligence and recommends customer strategies and channel approaches
•   Works with the Sales and Marketing team to support market penetration in target industries or geographic areas
•   Establishes and Builds personal relationships with the Channel Partners management, sales, and service teams
•   Investigates and resolves delivery, installation, quality, or service issues
•   Prepares reports of business transactions and maintains expense accounts

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related field and/or 8+ years of equivalent work experience in a Technical Outside Sales role
•    Prior experience supporting a distribution network preferred
•    30-50% travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally will be required
•    High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
•    Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from concept through completion), and planning skills.
•    Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts 
•    Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
•    Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
•    Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
•    Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
