Job Title Roles and Responsibilities:
We are seeking an Associate Director of Plant Commissioning and Turnover Leader within our GEMTE team located at our Allentown PA offices.
To lead Air Products’ regional Project Commissioning & Turnover organization for Air Products’ captive (Sale of Gas) and third party (Sale of Equipment) businesses. Type of facilities include Process Gases Plants, Air Separation Unit (ASU), Carbon Dioxide Unit (CO2) and Liquid Hydrogen (LHY) technology-based projects. The role has direct accountability to ensure safety, competitiveness, successful asset creation, productive internal and external interfaces, risk management, and talent development and management. Asset creation work involves collaborating with the Air Products Line on proposal development; working collaboratively with colleagues in Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Site Operations to develop high-quality cost-effective proposals and estimates, commissioning plans, and assignment of key resources. Multi-faceted planning, decision-making, and communication accountabilities span the above factors.
The role requires understanding and translating business requirements into effective commissioning strategies and delivering on all facets of the project commitments. The functional responsibilities include ensuring safety leadership, implementing global work processes and tools; building/developing/retaining a diverse, world-class team of commissioning managers and check out personnel; project risk management; developing commission execution strategies; resource planning and management and site support disciplines; and ensuring quality, timeliness, and performance of deliverables.
The role will support and execute a project portfolio associated with a range of technologies (cryogenics, adsorption, process gases plants including SMR, ATR, Gasification) and scale (highly standardized/small-scale products with individual asset values of USD $30MM - $6,500MM USD).
To fulfill the requirements of the position the incumbent must develop collaborative working relationships with Product Line colleagues and Project Delivery team members, Business Leadership, Operations, Procurement, and Technology.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide the leadership to ensure world-class safety performance across all projects within the Americas region; Ensure consistent application all global EH&S safety standards and procedures.
Develop and deliver competitive commissioning plans in support of project execution strategies to support the growth of Air Products businesses while consistently delivering on project commitments in terms of safety, cost, schedule, quality, and performance.
Provide outstanding people leadership and cultural stewardship to attract, develop and retain a diverse, highly capable regional team to support the business needs across the broad portfolio of offerings.
Drive close collaboration with and support across the regional Project Delivery organization, Product Line, and global Functional teams to ensure effective resource sharing, lessons learned, best practices and the consistent application of appropriate work processes and procedures.
Engineering degree required Extensive project, engineering construction or operations and field commissioning and plant start up experience (15+ years) and knowledge of control systems, rotating and static equipment. Experienced people leader with a proven track record of building teams, developing talent and advocating for diversity and inclusion Collaborative and inclusive leadership style Effective influential leader, with a proven track record of success within a matrix organization Strong communications and collaboration skills, written and verbal, and ability to flex communications styles to work cross-culturally, with a variety of stakeholders Action-oriented and ability to drive Air Products 4S culture Understanding of best in class tools and work processes in support of efficient commissioning and plant turnover
