Job description

Road Ranger, a growing multi-state travel center company, is seeking to add a Director of Repair & Maintenance to its Operations Department. The Director of Repair & Maintenance is responsible for the management of the R&M department. This position will oversee the R&M Supervisor/Dispatcher and R&M Technicians with the coordination and direction of the department with planning, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, buildings, and other facilities within the company.  Secondarily will be fielding calls from all company locations troubleshooting repair and maintenance matters.

• Develop an industry-leading program for store maintenance.
• Responsible for the Company R&M budget.
• Oversee and assist with the coordination of R&M emergency call response to ensure timeliness and completion of calls.
• Required to visit and inspect all company locations a minimum of 3 times yearly.
• Conduct one-on-one personal meetings with each R&M technician once per quarter to review work performance.
• Will be the lead on all large R&M Capex projects to include items such as pavement repairs and dispenser replacement.
• Provide ongoing updates and status reports on Capex repairs to the VP of Construction.
• Track and maintain records for all Capex projects assigned to R & M.
• Alternate being on-call 24/7 every other week to assist the on-call Technicians.
• Review, improve and monitor all repair processes and continue to train field R&M tech personnel for the specific purpose of reducing our repair budget year over year.
• Inspects and evaluates use of space and facilities for repair and preventive maintenance.
• Plans, budgets, and schedules facilities modifications including cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts, and contracts for R&M Capital Projects.
• Perform audits and quality assurance inspections to support facility planning.
• Develops long range plans, conceptual designs, and capital outlay requirements and documentation for facilities.
• Inspects repairs and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.
• Oversees and directs maintenance personnel and workers engaged in equipment installation, facilities equipment repair, and preventive maintenance.

• 5+ years’ experience in repair and maintenance field as a technician with excellent knowledge of all operating systems in a commercial building preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred but not required
• Petroleum/Retail Industry experience required.
• 5+ Years of Supervisory Experience
• 5+ Years of Dispatch/ Working with outside R&M Vendors

• Must have excellent diagnostic capabilities.
• Resourceful, dependable, take initiative, self-directed and self-motivated.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage the daily activities of others.
• Must be able to manage multiple projects at that same time. 
• Must be able to direct external vendors to meet Road Ranger's standards of excellence.
• Possess the ability to create cost savings through negotiation of external vendors.
• Formulate policies, programs, and procedures for transportation systems, which includes, but not limited to, schedules, rates, routes, assignment of drivers and vehicles.
• Highly developed planning skills and strong organizational skills and must be able to pay strict attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure, prioritize and to handle multiple competing tasks and demands simultaneously.
• Possess a high degree of proficiency with a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and database software (MSOffice, Word, and Excel). 
• Highly professional and ethical with strong morals and integrity
• Must be able to maintain strict levels of confidentiality
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work under pressure, prioritize and handle multiple competing tasks and demands simultaneously 
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively in person, on the phone, or electronically
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships
• Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions under pressure
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other staff members to accomplish the goals and objectives of the organization
• Ability to travel regularly on Company business
