Job description
Wood County Hospital is seeking a Mechanic III. This is a full time, 40 hour per week, day shift position including weekend rotation and on call coverage. The selected individual will perform a variety of duties in and around the buildings of the hospital complex as well as offsite locations owned by the organization. Responsibilities include inspect, maintain and repair hospital equipment and systems on a scheduled and on demand basis, while following proper safety procedures including infection control, PPE, and Lockout Tagout processes. Problem solving, troubleshooting and communication skills are essential.
Job Duties:
- Tests, Inspects, and Repairs Electrical equipment, devices, and fixtures by troubleshooting, researching parts, and replacing components such as lamps, switches, motors, controls, circuit breakers, fuses, wiring, conduit, ballasts, and lamps while following safe practices and proper use of PPE.
- Repairs and maintains Plumbing and associated equipment such as drains lines, supply lines, faucets, shut-off valves, toilets, sinks, shower fixtures, and mixing valves. Uses auguring equipment to clear lines following safe practices, infection control, and PPE procedures.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs doors, frames, hardware, locking mechanisms, access controls, windows and screens, closers and hold open devices, and fire protection devices on building doorways.
- On a routine and scheduled basis performs Planned Maintenance on assigned equipment and systems throughout the building keeping accurate and timely documentation for record compliance purposes.
- May assist with bricklaying and concrete work.
Shift Details:
Hours: Full time, 40 hours/week
Shift: Day Shift, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
Includes on call shifts
Includes weekend rotations
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must maintain a valid Ohio driver's license and be insurable by our insurance agency
