Job description
Overview
As our Postpartum Nurse at CHI Health CUMC Bergan Mercy Hospital, you’ll care for mother-baby patients after delivery, gynecological patients requiring surgery, and early pregnancy patients requiring hospitalization. You will be responsible for delivering the highest quality patient care focusing on the safety of the mother and baby, with kindness and compassion.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need to appreciate that routine is never routine. We have some wonderful days and get to be with people through huge milestones in their lives. We also have some hard days and care for people as they grieve. You must be sensitive and understanding.
About Us
CUMC-Bergan Mercy Postpartum is a 36 bed unit. We have a team of nurses, midwives, Family Medicine, OB/GYN physicians and MFM caring for postpartum and gynecological patients. Our Labor and Delivery department delivers around 3600 babies a year. We are part of CommonSpirit Health which operates 137 hospitals and more than 1,000 care sites across 21 states making our services accessible to nearly 1 in 4 U.S. residents.

Responsibilities
What You'll Do
Monitor patients conditions and assess their needs
Educate patients on various interventions or procedures medications (name and purpose) exams etc.
Assess newborns and provide care
Communicate with the care management team including labor and delivery team physician or midwife lactation nurse charge nurse patient and family
Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
NRP required within 5 months of hire
Additional certification or licensure may be required upon hire
Minimum of 1 year experience in OB bedside nursing required

Pay Range
$33.50 - $48.58 /hour
