DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the VC-CFO, Information Technology Services (ITS) delivers Enterprise information technology services to the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) under the leadership of the campus Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Information Technology Services (IT Services) uses world-class services and technologies to empower UC San Diego's mission to transform California and the world as a student-centered, research-focused, service-oriented public university. Educational Technology Services (ETS), a division of IT Services, provides technology services, support, and resources to UC San Diego academic community, facilitating teaching and learning in service of the University’s educational mission. The Electronics Technician installs audiovisual (AV) equipment for a wide variety of UC San Diego campus and UC San Diego Health projects from small systems to complex video conference room systems. The position will work independently and in a team of installers to complete projects. The Electronics Technician will also alter existing audiovisual systems and structures.

Responsibilities:

* Install audiovisual equipment as part of campus and medical facilities projects from small systems to complex video conference room systems.* Install audiovisual systems for alterations of existing systems and structures for the campus and medical facilities.* Install complete audiovisual packages including but not limited to projectors, displays, wiring, cabling, computer controls, rack-building, control systems, sound systems, and video conference systems.* Troubleshoot, diagnose, isolate, and repair the cause of malfunctions of audiovisual equipment.* Responsible for the maintenance and repair of Media Event Support vehicles and electric carts including maintaining vehicle logs and working with professional repair facilities for the major repairs.* Troubleshoots malfunctions in emergency situations and performs emergency repairs at University locations such as classrooms, computer labs, and conference and seminar rooms.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $60,656 - $76,087 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $29.05 - $36.44

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
