Job description
Skills required:
Nexus & Extreme R&S preferred. VXLAN is a plus.
Engineers will be migrating from Extreme networks to Cisco Nexus, this includes Core/ Edge Routers and TOR switches
Architect Activities:
Review the Interoperability between Extreme and Cisco. Document all the logical design elements that will go into the solution
Testing migration between Extreme and Cisco. Intermediate System to Intermediate System (IS-IS) will Co-Exist for some time in Henry for the existing connected Class 2 Sites. Hence, there are needs for these migration testing to test the fusion route server between Cisco and Extreme fabrics
Review the Firewall Integration details with the four (4) Wide Dynamic Ranges (WDR) (two (2) WDRs at 86th and two (2) WDRs at Fishers)
Review the Inter-Site Setup and configuration with the implementation engineer
Review the Service Instance Identifier (I-SID) Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN) during the Implementation phase and dedicate time with the Implementation engineer for any VLAN that needs to be extended. Home Phone Networking Alliance (HPNA) is a tool that can be leveraged during the time of implementation
Dedicate time to follow up on the Top of Racks (ToR) connectivity and review any changes from a consolidation perspective during the implementation time
Work with the implementation engineer and making sure that Virtual Extensive Local Area Network (VXLAN) Multi-Site is configured according to the best practices
Assist the implementation engineer to develop the ATP document that includes the use cases and pass/fail criteria
