The Manager, Integrative Health & Medicine is a strategic leader who assists in developing Integrative Health and Medicine programs and services at Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH). The role requires creative thinking, flexibility, and tolerance for rapid change and growth.
The Manager, Integrative Health & Medicine assists in the oversight and daily operational responsibilities of the programs and services. This position also assists in serving as a catalyst for creating a care environment that fosters patient/client advocacy, quality, clinical competence, and a professional work environment. Responsibilities include developing efficient and effective workflows, project management, and developing strategic partnerships that will foster both clinical and business operations success. Operational responsibilities include but are not limited to efficient supply chain management, review, and interventions of variances in financial and operational reports. This position anticipates, sets expectations, and plans for training and orientation to new procedures and programs, allowing for growth in the clinical staff of the Integrative Health and Medicine service.
A day in the life of a Manager Integrative Medicine at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
- Assists with oversight of daily operations.
- Assists in maintaining an effective organizational structure and ensures that the development, implementation, and evaluation of operating systems/programs result in clinically effective, efficient, quality care; optimum service delivery; and achievement of identified tactics.
- Daily focus on regulatory compliance and processes, thereby providing a state of readiness for surveys, accreditations, and evaluations.
- Follow through on the DOH process and reporting when indicated.
- Ensure that the performance management system, including establishing team member engagement targets/organizational-unit metrics/Patient Satisfaction, is in place and that assigned departments achieve targets.
- Assists in developing and implementing initiatives to expand and maximize the effectiveness of services based on performance improvement targets.
- Assists in promoting the development and implementation of best practices and cultivating highly efficient patient flow processes.
- Serves as a professional role model to staff and future leaders, establishing mechanisms that provide early identification and mentoring of staff leaders in successful planning.
- Motivates, mentors, and directs subordinates to ensure that leadership potential is achieved and job accountabilities are established and met.
- Establishes and maintains retail product/inventory for maximum clinical application and financial gain.
- This includes appropriate resource allocation to meet budget expectations and program needs.
- Assists with oversight of identified clinical staff and support staff.
- Represents Integrative Health and Medicine at system-wide meetings where appropriate.
- Assists in the supervision of payroll, scheduling, evaluations, and team member meetings.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required :
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Health Care Management.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of project management.
- Ability to create analytical and operational reports.
- Management of people resources.
- Ability to communicate with families, patients, visitors, co-workers, physicians, and other team members.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office, Google Suite platforms, and Asana.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred :
- Experience in an academic setting.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred :
- Professional license in Nursing or similar field.
- Professional board certification in Nursing, Integrative Medicine, or a similar field.
