COLORADO PARKS AND WILDLIFE (CPW)
Our Mission is to perpetuate the wildlife resources of the state, to provide a quality state parks system, and to provide enjoyable and sustainable outdoor recreation opportunities that educate and inspire current and future generations to serve as active stewards of Colorado's natural resources.



Description of Job


Primary responsibility is to support the State Invasive Species Program through public outreach to non-motorized water recreation groups. Work will include trailering a mobile self-serve decontamination system throughout the Northeast Region in order to educate outfitters, anglers, hunters, and non-motorized watercraft users about aquatic invasive species and how to properly clean, drain, and dry their equipment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. Good driving record and ability to travel extensively with overnight stays is mandatory.
2. Ability to drive long hours and remain alert.
3. Knowledge of boat and trailer anatomy, ability to trailer boats/decontamination (power washer) units on highways and steep mountain roads.
4. Must be willing to be flexible with the weekday and weekend work schedule, as field work may be dictated by weather.
5. Experience with Microsoft Word applications required - Word, Excel, Access
6. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are required.
7. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.


PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences or higher education.
