Job description
The Orthopedic Center of Illinois is currently recruiting for an MRI TECHNICAL ASSISTANT.
Core Responsibility
The MRI Technical Assistant is responsible for assisting the MRI team with all daily activities of the department. This position will support delivery of all MRI services to ensure promptness and efficiency of the patient care process
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet and identify patients
- Interview and document patient history
- Ensure orders are appropriate based on type of exam being performed
- Provide information to patient about exam and assist patient as needed
- Transport patients using wheelchair - or assist as needed
- Utilizes proper radiation protection for patient and technologist
- Assist with flipping MRI room
- Monitor supplies, inventory, department cleaning and coordinate with purchasing to ensure supplies are available to MRI team
- Follow all HIPAA guidelines
- Comply with OCI Handbook and operational requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Active CNA or CMA
- Prior experience as a radiology/patient transport/nursing assistant helpful but not required
- Excellent interpersonal and customer skills are required
