Salary Starting: $40,000, avg. 3% COLA annually, Life & ADD/LTD Insurance, 70% health insurance, holidays, vacation, sick, personal, birthday and other leave available.

Summary/Objective: The Crime Commission, now in its 75th year as a nationally known public safety nonprofit, is seeking an Administrative Assistant for its management team. Expectation Examples: The Administrative Assistant needs to be a trustworthy member of our team and possess multiple administrative skills including competency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, TEAMS, ZOOM and Adobe products. Examples of other expectations could include:
- Order and stock supplies, answer phones, process mail, assist with electronic deposit contributions, receive credit card donations
- Schedule in-person and/or Microsoft TEAMS meetings for the KCMCC Board of Directors (BOD), its several committees and the four program Advisory Boards, assist board meeting hosts to provide food & beverage, American flag, microphone, copies of the agenda, past meeting minutes and other info meeting material for the 6 annual BOD meetings, send proper reminder notification emails with meeting locations/directions, record Board of Director meeting minutes, keep board member directories with current contact information, update board member page as needed on the KCMCC website
- Assist with preparation of TIPS Hotline annual contracts
- Assist the Vice President in working with Creative Planning, Inc. (KCMCC’s accounting firm) to learn and help with implementation of the new SAGE “Interacct” accounting software
- Maintain inventories for computers, furniture, etc., take the lead to coordinate service vendors and IT assistance when needed, be accountable with a Crime Commission credit card to assist in administrative and fundraising needs, take steps to become a notary public for the Crime Commission
Possible Duties, Tasks and/or Activities Examples
Fundraising and Events
Assist the Crime Commission’s Marketing and Events Director as needed to strategically market, promote and fundraise for the Crime Commission programs. The Administrative Assistant would be willing to help in the planning, marketing and accomplishment of the Crime Commission events, including assistance with auction software/item descriptions and photos. Photography skill is very helpful.
Digital Communications
- Administration and maintenance of the Crime Commission, Crime Stoppers, and fundraising websites/software
- Assist with content creation and posting on all social media platforms regarding fundraising events and the current work of the Crime Commission programs
- Assist with audience/subscriber admin and development of all digital communications including MailChimp and Bloomerang email marketing tools
Published Communications
- Assist with writing and editing of the Crime Commission monthly newsletters and other marketing, informational and fundraising emails
- Assist with the design and creation of marketing graphics for use with Crime Commission programs and events
Branding
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the Crime Commission brand standards including color schemes, typefaces, proper logo usage, and the brand voice
- Ensure that all products and publications, both physical and digital, adhere to the brand standards according to the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission Logo Standards handbook
Other Duties
- Report for work, events, and job-related functions on time and when scheduled
- Model high standard of professionalism to co-workers, Crime Commission associates, and event attendees
- Assist all Directors and Program Supervisors as needed
- Remain in compliance with the Employee Confidentiality agreement as a trusted member of the KCMCC team
- Follow the guidelines established and set forth in the KCMCC Employee Handbook
