Job description

Hilco has direct subsidiaries in the USA, UK, Germany, Australia, China, and the Netherlands, and our product portfolio is concentrated on five primary product categories: Professional Tools, Vision Protection, Consumer Accessories, Lenscare and Eye Care.

Hilco vision is currently searching for an experienced Product Manager who is responsible and accountable for the drive for global revenue and profitability of the product lines assigned, Consumer Accessories. Additionally, this position supports ongoing global market research, competitive analysis, and distribution channel analysis to help in establishing the strategic direction for each product line. Another major responsibility is to recommend programs and promotions for each product category to achieve budgeted sales.

Qualifications
• 1-2 years’ experience in the optical industry or related field, or 3 years’ experience in a product management role.
• Open to ongoing product management training, basic knowledge of the product categories and an essential understanding of the channels of distribution.
• Solid written and oral presentation skills to effectively communicate with and sell to customers as well as to be responsive to customers' needs.
• High degree of flexibility and initiative to be able to respond quickly to the varying and changing needs of the position.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities
• Recommend discontinuation plans based on product line rationalization and new product strategy.
• Author New Product Requests, Product Specification Sheets and Product Evaluations.
• Coordinates preparation for all Trade Shows, Customer Meetings, and trainings.
• Development of short-term and long-term strategic product plans for each product line based on ongoing market intelligence.
• Ensures consistent gathering, communication and interpretation of key market trends and customer needs and incorporates into innovative product development. Information gathered through various sources: customer visits, sales rep travel, trade shows, internet, etc.
• Looks for new product opportunities, suggesting new product development ideas and product line rationalization activities.
• Manages product lifecycle for each assigned product line by seeking continual product and service improvements by increased productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
• Supports the global development process and execution of product line introductions.
• Interfaces with global Cross-functional teams (engineering, sales, purchasing and communications) to successfully deliver against product initiatives for on-time product delivery & launch.
• Development of pricing strategy and implementation by product line.
• Serve as product expert, champion, and ambassador, both inside and outside the company for appropriate assigned line. Training all relevant staff, both internally and externally, in the product, including benefits, constraints and competitive advantages/disadvantages.
• Supports marketing communications activities in the development of marketing plans, collateral materials, advertising, and promotion plans for each product line assigned. This includes managing our B2B site as well as B2C support with product, content, etc.
• Supports product development in product sourcing and vendor communications.
