We are currently seeking a full time Practice Manager to provide leadership and administrative management to practice operations for our Primary Care services. This position includes office-level leadership through planning, developing, and organizing the workflow; directing and evaluating the activities of the practice; managing the financial performance and promoting the practice within Meridian Health Services, as well as the greater medical community located in Anderson, IN.
Practice Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the day-to day operations of the practice location(s)
- Provide and/or facilitate office and support staff functions.
- Assist with the administration of Meridian policies and procedures, assuring compliance at the practice level.
- Assist in the development of policy and procedures to improve patient care and utilization of clinical resources.
- Maintain providers daily schedules to meet productivity levels
- Regularly review productivity standards and make staffing adjustments as needed.
- Coordinates with Operations Coordinators for staff compliance with productivity standards, documentation expectations, CANS/ANSA completions, completing timely and accurate treatment plans and compliance with appropriate providers for insurance payer sources
- Ensure timely scheduling of all requests for emergent evaluations/medication reviews
- Provide staff with the tools that are needed to complete day to day responsibilities
- Ensure proper medication management/administration procedures are developed and followed. Troubleshoot medication problems that may occur.
- Call pharmacies to communicate providers concerns and/or check on prescriptions unavailable to our consumers
- Keep Medical Director and Vice President informed of all concerns or problems that occur in the Medical Services Department that involve his/her immediate staff. Communicate any and all changes that effect Medical Services.
- Serve on committees as department representative
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities for direct reports including interviewing, hiring, and training employees, performance appraisals and addressing performance concerns.
- Complete payroll functions for all line staff including approving paid time off and expense/professional development requests.
- Assures training and orientation of all administrative staff, and ensures that the team maintains a service oriented atmosphere with the patients, the public, and the other staff members.
- Track licensure requirement for all staff members.
- Maintain effective feedback mechanism with staff in order to enhance work processes, promote employee understanding, and employee engagement.
- Assist staff in resolving operational problems/concerns.
- Participate in monthly Medical Staff meetings as needed.
- Attend supervision meetings with the Regional Manager as needed.
- Provide data required to document the experiences at the practice(s).
- Assisting Senior Management in achieving the Health Center’s operational and budgetary goals. Closely monitor financial practice data, facilitate interpretation, distribution and communication of financial performance / results and drive improvements
- Promote a patient-centered environment and facilitates programs and processes that meet patient needs.
- Maintains the practice philosophy for attracting new patients and retaining existing patients.
- Facilitates resolution of patient problems that doctors/providers or other staff members cannot finalize.
- Adheres to established quality principles and standards established by the Health Center.
- Provide care model leadership, identify and help develop clinical and other staff team building to insure productive staff and that clinical staff performs at the top of their license
- For Primary Care: Participate in physician onboarding
- Insure overall practice compliance, regularly monitor actions to insure compliance and take immediate steps to correct any non-compliance or at-risk practices
- Other duties as assigned
We are seeking Practice Manager candidates with the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Management, Business Management, or Health Care related field preferred
- Certified Physician Practice Manager (CPPM); Medical Group Management Association (MGMA); or Certified Administrator of Physician Practice Management (CAPPM) Certification(s) also preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with a strong management background required; 5 years preferred.
- Familiarity with the specific specialty (psychiatry, primary care, addictions, etc.) practice is required.
- Physician practice management experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, a driving record meeting Meridian's driving policy, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance required
