Job description
Responsible for the financial needs of the credit union members. Responsible for counseling members who seek to achieve financial goals and maximize financial potential through a variety of specialized financial products and services. Helps members achieve goals and objectives from face-to-face financial analysis. Identify appropriate insurance and securities product goals and objectives. Establishing a relationship with continuous periodic reviews is an essential part of the total-needs process. Present a professional image and cultivate a strong working relationship with credit union staff, member, and key people involved in the credit union movement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, or related area, preferred.
- Must obtain the Life/Health/Variable Insurance License within 90 days of employment.
- Must obtain the FINRA Registration Securities Industry Essentials Examination, Series 6, Series 63, and Series 7 within 90 days of employment.
- LUTCF, CLU, ChFC, OR CFP designation, preferred.
- Continued education and licensing recommended, including CRPC, etc.
Experience:
- One year of related experience with the financial services industry in a position with extensive member interaction, required.
- Previous supervisory experience, preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities :
- Thorough knowledge of Credit Union services and products provided.
- Understanding of member bookkeeping procedures.
- General knowledge of Financial Services products and services.
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications, preferably Microsoft office software.
- Excellent communication and cross-servicing skills.
- Must exhibit positive attitude and be outgoing.
- Must demonstrate Credit Union spirit of "People helping people" and embrace everyday challenges willingly.
