Job description
One of our manufactruing clients in London, ON is looking for a Tool and Die Maker for their facility.
Shift - Days, Afternoons and Midnights
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interpret drawings and specifications of tools, dies, prototypes, or models.
Calculate dimensions and tolerances, and set up machine tools accordingly.
Demonstrate understanding of dies with inter-cooling channels and their impact on material properties.
Interpret the metal properties of the die and stamping material.
Optimize the Hot Stamping process to achieve customized part properties.
Utilize various machine tools for cutting, turning, milling, planing, boring, grinding, and shaping workpieces.
Use precision measuring instruments to verify machined parts for compliance with specifications.
Assemble parts using hand tools and machine, fit, and assemble castings and other components for making metal patterns, core bores, and match plates.
Perform extensive die maintenance, including rebuilding die sections, re-trimming pads & forms, and implementing engineering changes on all types of dies.
Inspect and test completed tools, dies, jigs, or fixtures to ensure proper operation.
Develop, maintain, and upgrade jigs, dies, fixtures, and gauges.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a trade certification as a Tool & Die Maker or equivalent.
At least 5 years of experience in Tool & Die, preferably within the Automotive Manufacturing sector.
Minimum 2 years of specific experience working with Hot Stamping Dies.
