Job description

The Metropolitan District is a non-profit municipal corporation chartered by the Connecticut General Assembly in 1929 to provide potable water and sewerage services on a regional basis. Today, the MDC provides quality water supply, water pollution control, mapping, and household hazardous waste collection to eight member municipalities - Bloomfield, East Hartford, Hartford, Newington, Rocky Hill, West Hartford, Wethersfield and Windsor - and to portions of other towns in the region. We are looking to hire a full-time (37.5 hours/week) college intern for the MDC's summer internship program to work on Special Projects for the Water Treatment and Human Resources Department.

As a summer intern supporting various operational departments, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day tasks, projects, and organizational initiatives. The selected intern will also serve as the liaison/program coordinator of our Learn & Earn summer program for high school students.

The Intern will report to the company's Headquarters location in Hartford.

The program will begin on June 3, 2024 and run through August 2, 2024

Qualifications:

College student pursuing a B.A. or B.S in Marketing, Communications, Business Management or Organizational Behavior or related major required.

Computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
