With 25 offices nationally, we are a $600m, Private Equity backed Professional Services Firm seeking our next Corporate Controller. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will be responsible for leading the accounting function, including development of 5-6 team members, as well as continuous improvement of the organization's accounting initiatives, principles, practices, and procedures. This position will oversee the timely monthly close of the General Ledger, consolidation and reporting of financial results, the development of and compliance to internal controls, the accounts payable process including vendor payments and oversight of the payroll function.
This is a unique, remote opportunity to have significant impact on a growing organization. This role will collaborate and direct operational and strategic activities for the Firm, related to the financial and operational management. In addition, you will work directly with Firm, Service Line, and functional leadership on various initiatives.
As the Corporate Controller, you will :
Ensure accurate & timely financials are in compliance with US GAAP standards with adherence to the close calendar. Identify any areas of concern in financials for investigation & resolution.
Maintain the company’s overall systems of accounts, books and records for all company transactions and assets.
Review and ensure timely completion of internal financials, bank financials and other financial packages.
Maintain current and projected balance sheets and cash flow statements.
Maintain and make recommended changes to Firm policies as appropriate, including revenue recognition.
Coordinate the external audit in a multi-entity environment
Responsible for establishing and ensuring compliance to internal controls and continually updates processes & procedures bringing accounting to best in class.
Oversee accounts payable and payroll functions of the organization.
Manage the consolidation of company entities including eliminations and recording of investment in joint ventures.
Representing the accounting team, lead establishment of any new entities.
Direct the daily activities and career development of team members, including hiring, coaching, reviewing work, establishing goals and performance management of team members as required.
What you bring to the opportunity :
Willingness to drive success and contribute to a growth culture
BS/BA in Accounting
An active CPA license
10+ years of corporate accounting leadership
Public accounting training (audit, tax, outsourced accounting etc.)
$100m revenue training as accounting leader
Consolidation / intercompany accounting / multi-entity accounting training
Audit supervision experience
Exposure to private equity ownership ( preferred )
Strong ERP training/implementation experience
Strong GAAP knowledge
Excellent management, mentoring and general support with and for staff
