Job description

Main Purpose of the Role:

Cost mitigation through efficient routing and advancing of cargo to avoid terminal storage costs.

Ensure that vessels sail at 100% capacity either TEU or weight, depending on the service.

Maximize ZIM’s profitability by planning and monitoring the flow of containers to ensure smooth service, cost efficient movement of full and empty containers from origin to final destination, while ensuring highest vessel utilization.

To maintain constant communication and coordination with BU, Trade, Logistics, Operations, CS and sales to remain aligned with and support ZIM’s strategic goals.

Main Tasks:

Monitor bookings to ensure mitigation of costs through cargo advancing and proper routing compliance.

Proactively handle bottle necks and ensure smooth T/S while maintaining allocations.

Coordinate with Trades & partners and pull relevant reports to consolidate and prepare a timely vessel forecast for full cargo volumes.

Coordinate with logistics for planning empty equipment on the basis for trade forecast for Full and prepare container Booking Forecast (CBF) for Planners and Partners per established process and timeline

Coordinate with Vessel Closing team or prepare as required the Final load list for partner vessels, upload required CORPARS per established process and timeline and follow up until issues if any are addressed and resolved

Lead, attend as required the weekly meetings with Trade units, BU, Operations and Planners

Prepare bypass notices, communicate with partners for extra slot purchase by trade or logistics request, and generate relevant communication to ensure that all parties across department are in the loop of relevant information for synergies and collaboration as required

Updating Shared Drives for assigned services,

responding to E-mail and Telephone communication,

conducting research to respond to issues, queries,

handling any related short projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university (Preferred); 

• Minimum two years of ocean carrier experience required; or Equivalent combination of education and experience. 

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.

• Knowledge of logistics, supply chain, shipping, or freight forwarding preferred
