Montgomery College, Takoma Park/Silver Spring , has an immediate need for a Full time Graduation Technician position in the office of Records and Registration The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:30am -5:00pm . This is a Bargaining, Non-exempt; Grade 21 position. Non-exempt positions are not eligible to work a secondary job at Montgomery College. Under general supervision, conduct degree audits and send graduation information to students, academic appeals, transcript requests, course registration and substitution forms. In addition, provide front counter service to students and the general public.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Execute the degree audit process for all prospective graduates, which include collecting graduation applications, entering prospective graduates in the database, notifying applicants about graduation status, and ordering diploma and certificates for prospective graduates.
• Develop graduation lists including Phi Theta Kappa honor designations and name cards.
• Send graduation information to prospective graduates about date, time and place for commencement.
• Assist with commencement rehearsal.
• Respond to inquiries regarding credit and non-credit course offerings, admissions and registration procedures, and academic regulations in person, and by email.
• Release information from student academic records in accordance with college policy and relevant state and federal laws, including release of official transcripts and verification of enrollment.
• Receive and prepare Academic Appeals for the committee meeting.
• Process transcript requests from students, receives and processes all course substitution forms.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Three years of general office experience that included at least one year of admissions and registration duties of the field OR The equivalent combination of education, training, certification and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
• Knowledge of admissions, records and registration procedures, office procedures and practices, business English, spelling, grammar and conventional styles and formats used in office communications.
• Skill in using computer terminals and other keyboard activated devices.
• Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship

Hiring Range $22.89 to $29.74 per hour. Initial salary placement is based on candidate experience and internal equity. Please include a complete resume including all relevant and related work experience.
