Responsibilities:
- Catalog and organize case information, assisting in metadata management
- Draft correspondence to clients as needed
- Schedule client meetings, mediations, and phone appointments for attorneys
- Maintain attorney calendars efficiently
- Submit pleadings and other court documents in Maryland and the District of Columbia
- Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for mediations, depositions, or trials
- Operate within a team environment, actively collaborating with colleagues
Qualifications:
A Legal Assistant must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; be friendly, empathetic, and organized; and be proficient with Microsoft Office 360 and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Additionally, you must possess the following skills:
- Ability to manage time effectively and ensure deadlines and KPIs are met or exceeded
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- People Skills/Customer Service—A Legal Assistant should have excellent people skills with the confidence to address initial client complaints and soothe angry clients
- Excellent Organizational Skills
- Ability to work in a team with other Legal Assistants, Paralegals, and Attorneys
