Overview
The International Center provides immigration assistance, advice, and intercultural programming to international undergraduate and graduate students and international faculty/research scholars across Tufts University. The Center is authorized by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the US Department of State (DOS) to issue non-immigrant visa documentation. The staff works to ensure that students, faculty/scholars are in legal status while either studying or working at Tufts. Additionally, the staff works to ensure that individuals have a productive, successful academic or work and personal experience at Tufts University.
The Director o versees the operation and management of the Tufts International Center, with offices at both the Medford / Somerville and Boston Health Sciences campuses, to provide non-immigrant visa services to over 2,500 international students, scholars and faculty members. The Director is responsible for immigration policy and compliance issues involving the US Department of Homeland Security, Department of State and Department of Labor. The Director coordinates University sponsorship of employees for permanent residence. Ensures a safe and welcoming environment for all international students, faculty and staff. The Director also manages International Center budget and staff, ensuring appropriate training and performance development.
