Job Summary
Cheney Brothers is looking for hard-working, motivated individuals to join our yard team.
Job Responsibilities/Requirements
- Manage yard production, organization, staffing, performance, schedules, and inventory levels.
- Effectively hire, train, lead, and delegate to yard personnel.
- Coordinate with other managers to schedule shifts and personnel.
- Manage inventory of materials and supplies, ensuring proper inventories are maintained.
- Maintain records.
- Ensure safety of team members.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area, regularly inspect for hazards, and maintain the physical condition of the yard including its equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Requires knowledge/experience of warehouse/distribution center and related transportation operations.
- Requires in-depth knowledge of safety and compliance issues including FMCSA, FDOT, DOTs, and OSHA.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Prior supervisory experience is required.
- Strong leadership experience and communication skills are required.
- Must be flexible with time and able to answer calls after hours.
- Requires computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Other duties as assigned.
