FTE/Hours per pay period: 1.0;

Department: Aging Services - CR

Shift: Monday – Friday, Daytime hours, 40 hours per week;

 

AbbeHealth Services -is a regional nonprofit organization dedicated to providing mental health and aging services that help individuals achieve their optimum levels of independence and success. Aging Services is currently seeking a full-time Community Resource Specialist.

• Is aware of department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (eg. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of department or administrative staff.
• Purposefully conducts all aspects of the job in an ethical manner in support of the organization’s commitment to ethical behavior in all areas of personal and professional activity.
• Assists older adults with accessing services including eligibility, intake, and referral.
• Coordinates Lifeline services including overseeing and assisting with billing, billing inquirers, and record keeping.
• Maintains appropriate Lifeline subscriber file, equipment inventory, and equipment warranty information.
• Responsible for overseeing the day to day coordination of the Lifeline program including the coordination of home installation and service of equipment, day to day operations,establishment of work schedules, and the supervision and training of volunteer staff
• Assures that coordination with Lifeline Central occurs to ensure the efficient, accurate and timely input of subscriber information required for successful service hook-up and monitoring.
• Responsible for the Aging Services Transportation program including maintaining accurate and complete program files, scheduling of volunteers, and client ride requests.
• Flexibility to respond to constantly changing situations
• Responds to inquires in a courteous manner.
• Demonstrates a positive cooperative attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to change to meet department goals.
• Performs additional duties as may be assigned to ensure complete service to all customers.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalency required

Qualifications/Experience

Strong customer service and organizational skills with a desire to work with older adults preferred. Iowa Driver’s License required.
