We are looking for a Regulatory Product Compliance Engineerto join our team!We are very excited to move into our new office, which is located in Atlanta, GA near the ATL Airport. We are willing to be flexible with working arrangements until our new office has officially opened in Q1 of 2024. We are considering candidates only local to Atlanta, GA.
This person will work cross functionally to ensure all new product development and product improvements meet all regulatory, product compliance and electrical safety standards. If you have experience in these areas, we’d love to talk to you!
WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
The Regulatory Product Compliance Engineer communicates and corresponds with Product Design Engineers and regulatory agencies / consultants to secure and maintain required regulatory certifications related to products manufactured by Fluidra. The Regulatory Product Compliance Engineer is a subject matter expert in the area of regulatory and product compliance and electrical safety and will work closely with the product management, marketing, engineering, legal, technical-writing and operations staff to identify applicable product safety and regulatory requirements for all products during product development and product improvement projects and will ensure that requirements are met.Additionally, you will:
- Champions the regulatory and compliance process for all pool products in the US and Canada being developed or that are currently in production to ensure continued compliance to all applicable Standards.
- Initiates and handles required procedures with internal company staff and external regulatory agencies and consultants to revise or supplement all applicable regulatory certifications, as needed
- Drives efforts/projects to ensure completion of identified requirements for on-time product launches.
- Participate in the local Product Safety Council, ensuring continual adherence to company Product Safety Objectives and Policies.
- Works cross-functionally with all internal teams, e.g., engineering, product management, marketing, customer service, marketing, legal, field etc…. to monitor product safety concerns, serving as the conduit to report any feedback to the company’s Global Product Safety Council.
- Assists/Supports Engineering & Lab Staff in development and maintenance of laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) as required for on-site product regulatory certification testing and Design Verification Testing (DVT);
- Works with internal, responsible Fluidra staff to maintain quality procedures and resolve quality issues, as they affect regulatory compliance and safety of equipment/products manufactured by the Company in locations around the globe.
- Interfaces with and provides assistance to customer support staff as it relates to product Safety and Regulatory compliance issues.
- Participates in relevant industry standards/code development organizations and meetings to ensure up-to-date knowledge of all issues which affect products manufactured by the Company.
WHAT WE SEEK
- Knowledge or experience with electrical safety and regional requirements in the US required.
- Knowledge of general laboratory equipment (e.g., electrical, combustion, temperature, hydraulic, environmental), and safety
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and procedures related to pool or similar equipment and appliances (e.g., UL, CSA, IEC, NSF, EPA, CE, IAPMO.)
- The successful candidate must be energetic and flexible with excellent planning and organizing ability, a proven leader who displays sound judgment and the ability to make key decisions independently
- Must be a demonstrated problem solver with the ability to manage information, to systematically analyze that information and willingness to delegate tasks and responsibilities
- Excellent Organizational, communication and interpersonal team skills.
- Strong track record of accomplished projects with increasing responsibilities
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation to work independently and outside normal business hours to complete responsibilities and correspond/communicate with staff around the globe and in different time-zones.
- Travel, as necessary, using available means such as automobile or airlines, to continually ensure that all above responsibilities are being consistently completed. Position could require up to 30% travel, which could include nights and weekends.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline and minimum five years in regulatory / compliance experience. Similar degree in other disciplines with demonstrable knowledge or experience applicable to pool products will be considered
