We are looking for a System Admin/Data Center Manager to join our team in the Silicon Valley.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the day to day operations of our production systems, serving over 15,000 users and over 5,000 companies.
- Enable cross functional development between multiple internal teams and provide a high level of service and support on our development and high-volume production systems.
- Design, install, architect, configure, monitor and optimize the hybrid cloud environments, including AWS and co-lo data center.
- Establish strategies to identify and improve information security implementations as it relates to the network, systems, devices, and access for regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Take a proactive approach to identifying processes that need to be automated and to develop tools to build, maintain, and monitor systems to improve the stability and performance of our platform.
- Establish Documentation to a level by which processes are reproducible by others.
- Implement and use the latest data-center tools and processes.
- Part of the on-call support for our production system.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related credentials in IT infrastructure services or related field with a minimum of 5 years experience.
- Demonstrated technical capabilities are a must, as are people skills. This position requires an ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- A working knowledge of managing AWS, including EC2, S3, VPC, etc.
- An in-depth knowledge of Linux (CentOS/RedHat) fundamentals, including networking, file systems, security, ssh, and the kernel itself.
- A strong working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, including both hardware and host-based routing, DNS management, VLANs, firewalls, and load balancing.
- Expert knowledge of troubleshooting tools (i.e tcpdump, netstat, iostat, traceroute, strace).
- Experience implementing SSL Certificates, including SANS certificates in an Apache stack.
- Server virtualization and management work experience, using VMware, KVM, Xen or similar venues.
- Monitoring tools experience, such as BMC or Nagios, from networking, server and metrics reporting perspectives.
- Excellent skills in scripting and automation in python, ruby and/or BASH/TCSH shell.
- Experience managing NFS storage services, preferably with a background using NetApp Filers.
- Experience supporting Oracle, MySQL, or other databases from an administrative point of view.
- Experience being on-call in a 24×7 production environment, supporting customers worldwide.
- US work authorization required.
