Job description
The Intermediate Machinist is responsible for the successful operation of machines to produce quality parts for our Tennant products. In this role, you’ll use a variety of tools, mechanical instruments and techniques. If you are mechinally and technically inclined and pay close attention to details, then this is the role for you.

Press brake operators are responsible for the safe set up and operation of CNC press brakes to achieve established quality and efficiency standards. Working within a team, you’ll create quality parts that go into Tennant products. If you are self-driven and enjoy using your problem-solving skills then this is the role for you.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate Cincinnati and Bystronic CNC press brakes safely and efficiently
- Utilize equipment and measurement tools to ensure part accuracy within print tolerances and minimize quality notifications and scrap
- Make adjustments to angles, dimensions, etc. when needed
- Participate in the team’s drive for continuous improvement by submitting ideas
- Work effectively with the team and leadership to help meet the production needs of the company
- Adept at performing 2 or more processes proficiently within the department
- Assist other operators in understanding quality expectations
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 or more years of related press brake experience (Cincinnati or Bystronic control experience preferred)
- Blueprint reading experience
- Ability to use digital caliper and other measurement devices
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Requires standing 90% of shift
- Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and lifting with arms extended
- Must be able to lift 45 lbs. Average part weighs 5 - 15 lbs.
- Requires good manual dexterity
ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES:
- Hearing and vision protection required in all areas
- Safety shoes required in all areas
- Exposure to oil, grease, dust, metal particles, sparks, sharp-edged materials
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
* Exposed to hazards/risks that require body protection (gloves, pants, steel toes, sleeves, safety glasses, etc.)
