Brief Description
Under limited supervision and with minimal technical guidance, keep plant machinery and mechanical equipment in good repair
Responsibilities also include facilities maintenance and preventative maintenance
Examine machines to diagnose trouble, dismantle machines, replace defective parts, reassemble machines and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation
May occasionally make replacement parts
Perform intermediate troubleshooting, work with limited technical guidance and may provide work training to less experienced maintenance staff
Approximately 70% machine maintenance and 30% facility maintenance
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
High school diploma or its equivalent
Two years of technical training (vocational degree) preferred or the equivalent amount of education and experience
Basic math, logical reasoning, and problem solving skills
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Experience with CNC mills, CNC turning centers, and CNC grinders strongly preferred
Experience with facilities maintenance, plumbing, lighting, high voltage electrical is preferred
Work Environment: Well-lit, air conditioned machine shop with moderate noise. Staff members will need to be able to work while standing, sitting, bending, and climbing. Staff members will be occasionally lifting and working inside of machines.
