Gould Killian CPA Group, P.A. is searching for an experienced tax senior to join our team! Gould Killian is located in the artistic, up and coming South Slope Neighborhood of downtown Asheville, North Carolina at the historic Sawyer Motor Building. We have served clients in Asheville and Western North Carolina, around the country and around the world since 1967. Gould Killian has a high quality client base with very long-term professional relationships. Our wealth management affiliate, Altamont Capital Management, LLC works as part of a team with Gould Killian professionals to help clients build and preserve wealth.
We are looking for individuals who are service-oriented, personable, growth-focused team players to service individual and small to mid-size business clients. Client contact is encouraged at all levels. You will work in both hands-on and formal training sessions with managers and partners to broaden your technical and professional skills. There is great opportunity for advancement in the firm and options to specialize.
Compensation Package:
- Base salary - $60-75k Depending on Experience

Job Description:
A senior staff accountant has an accounting-related bachelor’s degree and is working on the CPA exam, or has passed the exam. Duties involve preparation work on more complex and varied projects, as well as supervising, reviewing and training the work of tax staff accountants. Additionally, seniors will take on responsibility in the management of client work by assisting in the preparation of time budgets, scheduling staff, supervising staff assigned to clients and maintaining contact with clients. The candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in public accounting, including preparation and supervision of staff. This is an in-person position at our office in downtown Asheville, with the capability for some remote work and flexible schedule.
Education/Credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other relevant field required
- Has CPA/EA or is working towards achieving one of these credentials
