TITLE: Oncology RN
SHIFT: Days
START DATE: TBD
LOCATION: Laramie WY
REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Active Wyoming RN license
- Chemotherapy Certification
- BLS (must obtain within 60 days of hire)
- ACLS (must obtain within 1 year of hire)
- Radiation Therapy Certificate Course must be taken within 1 year of hire
- Previous experience in a hospital preferred
- Previous experience with Radiation Oncology preferred
DESCRIPTION:
- The Oncology Registered Nurse provides care to patients by administering fluids chemotherapy medications or blood products through injections peripheral IV lines or central venous catheters.
- The Radiation Oncology RN is responsible for the daily duties within the Radiation Oncology Clinic.
- All care treatment and services provided are within current Federal State Local Standards Rules Regulations and Guidelines to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
- Assessment planning implementation and evaluation of all aspects of care for patients within scope of practice.
- Provides education to patients according to their needs.
- Transcribes utilizes and implements protocols and physician orders.
- Coordinates healthcare team and delegates appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel.
- Annual completion of yearly required CEUs.
- Excellent customer service skills including but not limited to: a friendly personality tact patience empathy and a helpful professional attitude both in person and on the telephone.
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff managers and the general public verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate effective listening skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills and ability to establish priorities effectively.
- Possess exceptional problem solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively without immediate supervision.
- Ability to learn new computer software programs.
- Ability to recognize and protect confidential information.
- Demonstrate ethical and legal accountability for the position.
