Job description

Job Summary:

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology
On any given day at Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology, we’re reimagining ways to create magical viewing experiences for the world’s most beloved stories while also transforming Disney’s media business for the future. Whether that’s evolving our streaming and digital products in new and immersive ways, powering worldwide advertising and distribution to maximize flexibility and efficiency, or delivering Disney’s unmatched entertainment and sports content, every day is a moment to make a difference to partners and to hundreds of millions of people around the world.
A few reasons why we think you’d love working here:

Media Engineering
Media Engineering is an innovative organization that is focused on providing the best possible video playback experience, art, and metadata to customers around the world, powered by exceptional technology. This strategic work requires streamlining and repurposing technology across different business and distribution channels – including streaming, linear, and theatrical – so that technology can ebb and flow across the needs of the business.

Commerce Engineering seeks a Business Analytics Manager to drive the strategy and planning of CDN traffic shaping and cloud compute hybridization. The ideal candidate will be comfortable using statistical and financial modeling to optimize the CDN provider portfolio mix, evolving the media delivery strategy towards increased distribution reach while balancing costs with complementary growth opportunities in cloud computing.  Candidates for this role will be familiar with statistical modeling techniques to optimize discount tiers against delivery performance metrics, holding our vendors accountable via SLA, use of move credits, and other contractual mechanisms.

Responsibilities:

In success, the Business Analytics Manager will partner closely with stakeholders across Operations, Engineering, Product, Finance, and Program Management to bring greater economic efficiencies and identify opportunities for scalable growth. Successful candidates will be highly analytical, comfortable presenting to an executive audience, and able to work effectively in a matrix organization. The Senior manager will be responsible for regular recurring forecasts of future capacity to ensure alignment with long-range business objectives, usage projections, and changing market conditions.

This role will focus on leading strategic media distribution initiatives and their execution across the organization to develop organizational vision, strategy, and effective communication of current performance and future opportunities.
