General Responsibility
The Engineering Intern/Co-op is primarily responsible to support the application engineering department in a variety of tasks including preliminary sketches, data analysis, and prototype delivery.

Duties and Standards
•    Supporting the Application / Product Engineers through a variety of tasks such as customer data analysis and preparation for customer meetings.
o    Utilizing Microsoft Office, Minitab, and other software tools support the needs of the product application engineers in responding to customer requests 
o    Utilizing customer database tools in Covisint and eSupplier input 
•    Manage the preparation of prototypes to customers and/or to local test labs
•    Support application/product engineers with product development documentation and PPAP
•    Support application/product engineers maintaining physical samples and the working area organization (5s)
•    Assist application/product engineers when visiting customers and/or Maxion Wheels facilities

•    The automotive environment is fast paced and forever changing. The Engineering Intern/Co-op will have to react effectively and efficiently to a new set of boundary conditions regularly as customer requirements are balanced against operational capacities, goals, and objectives. 

Job Specifications

Skills
•    Good communication skills.
•    Effective time management and organizational skills
•    Good risk management and conflict/opportunity resolution skills
•    Interpersonal- able to work with customers, plants, engineers, support groups, and sales functions

Knowledge 
•    Working on a bachelors or masters degree in an engineering field
•    Hands on knowledge of Microsoft Office products
•    Knowledge of Autocad a plus
