Job description
Position: Territory Sales Representative - Building Drainage Solutions
Location: Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Colorado.
Base salary of $75,000-$85,000 plus commissions. Commissions are $20,000-$38,000 per year. Total compensation (base salary commissions) = $95,000-$123,000 /year.
Summary: Join our team as a Territory Sales Representative specializing in Building Drainage Solutions, where you'll play a pivotal role in driving stakeholder-focused sales activities within your designated territory. Your primary responsibilities will include following up on leads, identifying potential projects, supporting both internal and external customers, devising repetitive selling strategies, and contributing to group objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute an approved business plan tailored to the region.
- Promote building drainage products to relevant stakeholders such as property owners, corporations, public agencies, specifiers, general contractors, installing contractors, distributors, and maintenance/retrofit contractors.
- Pursue project specifications, quotes, or inquiries to secure orders for building drainage products.
- Identify potential drainage opportunities from various lead sources and collaborate with representation agencies.
- Collaborate with the inside sales team to target new business opportunities and maintain a robust project pipeline.
- Ensure accurate data entry and information management within the Sales Management System (SMS/Dynamics).
- Provide training and manage Manufacturer's Reps or showroom/wholesale accounts within the territory.
- Conduct market research using available tools and platforms to identify opportunities and contacts.
- Assist Specifiers (Architects/Engineers) and Corporate Decision Makers in specifying building drainage products.
- Attend and organize lunch and learn sessions, as well as trade shows, as required.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, science, or related discipline preferred.
- Minimum of five years of previous outside sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Travel Requirement:
- Approximately 70% travel required, including daily travel by car and occasional overnight travel by plane.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and proposals.
- Strong numerical skills including the ability to compute percentages, discounts, and margins.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other professional programs.
- Familiarity with video conferencing equipment.
- Excellent communication skills with professional phone manners.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Ability to travel daily and spend significant time in a vehicle.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate a computer for extended periods.
- Capability to lift objects up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and bending required.
