POSITION : Tour Guide

REPORTS TO: Guest Services Manager

DEPARTMENT : Guest Services

Completed in August of 2006, State Farm Stadium has set the standard in multi-purpose NFL Facilities. The stadium is home to a variety of different events including Arizona Cardinals home games, the annual Fiesta Bowl, international soccer matches, motorsports, trade & consumer shows, and corporate & social functions.

Designed with a roll-out natural grass field and retractable roof, the first of its kind in North America, the stadium is capable of converting from a sports facility to a multi-functional event space allowing it to host numerous event types in air-conditioned comfort.

SUMMARY

The ASM Global Guest Services department is seeking Tour Guides to serve the high volume of visitors. The role of a Tour Guide is to effectively give information about the venue in an entertaining, engaging and informative way.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

+ Responsible for unlocking and setting up various elements pre-tour and properly securing post-tour

+ Welcome each visitor and serve them as they begin tour

+ Interact with and guide visitors through walking tours of State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ.

+ Must memorize tour script and be able to share facts about the stadium, Arizona Cardinals, and NFL history (as provided by Tours department) in an educational and entertaining manner.

+ Learn which tours and routes are available daily.

+ Ensure safety of all visitors.

+ Facilitate a group getting through the stadium in a safe and effective way

+ Work with fellow team members to keep tour route monitored in an effective manner

+ Maintain a professional image and pleasant demeanor at all times.

+ Welcome each guest and serve them throughout their visit.

+ Assist other departments as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE

+ Previous customer service experience required.

KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS AND ABILITIES

+ Comfortable and competent with public speaking in group sizes up to 50

+ Comfortable operating electronic equipment (i.e. ticket scanning devices)

+ Demonstrate exceptional skills in customer relations, communications and problem solving.

+ Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.

+ Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.

+ Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.

+ Displays positive attitude and exemplifies a “can do” work ethic

+ Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

+ Ability to work effectively, independently and in a team environment

+ Competent with radio communication

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

+ This position may require working outside with exposure to extreme heat or weather conditions

+ Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time including walking long distances and stairs

+ May be exposed to moderate to extreme noise

+ Ability to occasionally lift/push/pull products weighting up to 30lbs.

CERTIFICATES , LICENSES , REGISTRATIONS

No certifications are required.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Some computer skills required. Basic office equipment use, like laptops may be needed at times.
