We are assisting our client, a regional construction management company, in their search for a Construction Project Engineer (Assistant Project Manager). This is a great opportunity to get in on the “ground floor” and presents a HUGE opportunity for quick advancement in a new office in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
We are seeking a
Construction Project Engineer (Assistant Project Manager) to assist the Project Manager with planning, organizing, and executing projects according to the schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities: - Prepares and maintains Logs/reports to include the ASI Log, and RFI, Submittal, and Subcontractor and/or Vendor reports.
- Establishes job processes (RFI’s, submittals, and pay applications) including approving pay applications and negotiating subcontract change orders.
- Compiles and issues Purchase orders and Subcontracts associated documentation such as W-9, certificates of insurance, etc.
- Actively participates in meetings including Scope Review, Owner, BA meetings, etc. Prepares meeting minutes as required.
- Actively participates in the development and maintenance of schedule ensuring project quality control and establishing overall project logistics with the guidance of the PM.
- Prepares project subcontract packages.
- Reviews, annotates, and processes minor and major submittals, and shop drawings as defined by the PM.
- Actively participates in close-out documentation.
- Participates in safety observations and inspections.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Project Management preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the construction industry and/or participation in a relevant internship program.
- Strong interest in the built environment.
- Must be able to successfully meet the requirements of a pre-employment selection assessment (CMA Assessment), and background check.
