Job description
As a DME Billing Specialist, you play a crucial role in overseeing the entire spectrum of billing and collection activities. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Diligently working on claims from various reports, such as aging reports over 120 days, timely filing reports, credit balance reports, and rejection reports. Conducting research to identify and rectify rejected claims, ensuring accurate post-payment processes. Resubmitting claims with necessary supporting documentation and promptly addressing any billing discrepancies. Handling the posting of payments or rejections received with precision and attention to detail. Resolving billing issues effectively while providing exceptional service to clients. Responding to telephone inquiries from clients, caregivers, or insurance companies in a professional and courteous manner. Proactively contacting payers and utilizing payer websites to track and reprocess claims, ensuring timely and secure payment. Adhering to strict HIPAA compliance and maintaining an ethical approach in all interactions. Qualifications: We are seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent - Required 3+ years of experience in Durable Medical Equipment (DME) billing/coding - Required Proven experience in collections of insurance claims - Required Background in Medicare and/or Medicaid - Required Preferred experience with EDI transmissions - Strongly Preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Required Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment - Required Join our dynamic team and contribute to our commitment to excellence in healthcare services.
