The Energy Commission seeks an Associate Accounting Analyst in the Administrative & Financial Management Services Division / Accounting Office.

As a part of the Energy Commission Financial Services, the Accounting Office provides control and direction for the accounting activities of all funds and programs. The division coordinates the funding for the administration of all CA Energy Commission programs and provides support in improving operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Under the general direction of the Accounting Administrator II, the Associate Accounting Analyst independently analyzes a variety of accounting data sets to assist in the application of financial data and information to management problems, and has proficiency in handling complex and difficult assignments in this full journey level position. The incumbent performs complex professional-level analytical accounting duties necessary for identifying significant trends while making comparisons to previous accounting periods, developing, maintaining, documenting, and enhancing the systems needed to satisfy the Department's fiscal information needs. The incumbent also manages and monitors the daily, monthly, and yearly operations of the Financial Information System for California (Fl$Cal) and department’s internal databases.

Working Conditions

The CEC supports a hybrid workplace model with office-based and remote-cent ered workers. Limited in - person attendance and occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division . Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. This position is remote - centered , which means the incumbent works 50 percent or more of their time from an alternate work location.
