Lupin U.S. is comprised of a fast growing, innovative and robust team of manufacturing, Research and Development and Commercial divisions. Somerset, New Jersey is home to one of eighteen commercial manufacturing sites globally and the only commercial manufacturing facility in the United States for Lupin. Somerset, New Jersey is also the location for Lupin’s U.S. Sales Operations and Marketing divisions, as well as internal Product Development teams.
Lupin has a significant generic pipeline and a growing Specialty Brand presence in the U.S. Our Inhalation Research and Development facility is located in Coral Springs, Florida focusing on generic and branded orally inhaled and nasal drug products. Key shared service functions are found at our harbor side location in Baltimore, Maryland. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Human Resources and is responsible for processing payroll activities utilizing ADP Workforce Now, oversees the maintenance of payroll records and audits, and provides benefit administration assistance as part of the Human Resources team.
This position is located at our Somerset, New Jersey office or Coral Springs, FL office.
- Oversee the payroll processing and reporting activities and closely partner with ADP for payroll processing activities to include off-cycle paychecks, bonuses, leave balance review, shift differentials, special pay adjustments, etc.
- Coordinate the processing of garnishments, pay levies, and other involuntary court-ordered payments in a timely manner.
- Manage the administration of the timecard system (ADP Time and Attendance), monitoring submissions of approved timesheets, and ensuring valid data transfers to payroll.
- Process accurate expense reimbursements timely.
- Track VISA status for employees and ensure taxes are set up accordingly; track and process tuition reimbursement; employment referrals; follow up on special payroll related cases.
- Ensure the accuracy of any updates in ADP Workforce Now (new hires, terminations, rate information, etc.) and any changes to employee profiles prior to payroll processing. Compare changes to preview reports to ensure accuracy and employee confidence.
- Respond to inquiries or requests as they relate to payroll – to include assisting with updating employee tax data; pay verification; leave accrual; NJ STD ER; payroll surveys
- Assist with audits (including but not limited to financial statement audits, annual 401k audits, and workmen’s comp audit), special projects, and reporting.
- Support year end payroll processes including updating of 3rd party sick pay, PTO carry-over, and reconciliation of W-2 information for accuracy.
- Coordinate efforts between, payroll, human resources, and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data.
- Process and distribute payroll reports to applicable parties.
- Partner with Human Resources on inquiries regarding benefits to include leave management, 401k plan, and HSA and assist in the communications of mandatory notices (such as 1095c).
- Partner with the finance team on the proper recording of payroll transactions in SAP as well as confirming intercompany billing information as it relates to payroll.
- Assist employees with questions related to payroll, leave accruals, wage deductions, benefits, and other pay related items.
- Maintain confidentiality of all aspect’s employee information and company operations.
- Serve as technical expert for payroll issues through a deep understanding of payroll law, tax regulations and accounting principles
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
- Performs monthly and ad-hoc reporting as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus
- 5- 10 years of processing/administering payroll with multiple entities and across states ( manufacturing background preferred )
- Acute attention to detail and analytical skills
- Well organized and self-driven
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now, ADP’s Time and Attendance and ADP reporting modules required
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills
- Knowledge of multi-state payroll taxation
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Ability to perform under tight deadlines
- Must be able to work with flexibility towards changing requirements and priorities
- Mature, dependable candidate with extreme confidentiality a must
- Knowledge of SAP is an added advantage
Physical Requirements
The physical requirements of the position generally include: standing, walking, sitting, using hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms, talking and hearing. In some circumstances, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and crawling may apply. This position may require lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally. Generally work is performed in an office environment.
