The Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering is an integral part of the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences and the Grainger College of Engineering. We are seeking applications for the position of Teaching Assistant Professor in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of students in the field of renewable energy.
Responsibilities: - Develop and deliver high-quality undergraduate and graduate courses in renewable energy systems engineering, fostering an engaging learning environment that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on experiences.
- Advise and mentor students on academic and career-related matters.
- Actively participate in departmental and university committees, contributing to the academic community.
Required Qualifications: - Ph.D. in Agricultural & Biological Engineering, Renewable Energy Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
Desired Qualifications: - Industry experience in renewable energy systems engineering
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, with a strong commitment to student-centered learning.
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure or eligibility to obtain a PE license.
Appointment Information This is a full-time, 9-month academic year, nontenure track faculty position (with 100% teaching responsibilities). Proposed start date is flexible, however anticipated start date is August 2024. Salary is commensurate with experience.
