Since 1967, the company has offered affordable land, cruise, and river cruise tours to the most popular destinations around the world.

Summary:

The Business Development Manager, supporting our Europe Express brand, is responsible for building, supporting, strengthening and maintaining relationships with our travel agency account partners and advisors with the overall goal of growing revenue and advisor engagement. The focus for this position is to expand channels in a profitable manner to reach company’s objectives. Territory:

Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Northern Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Alaska (primary focus on Northern CA, WA, CO and OR)

Location

To cover the Territory effectively and efficiently we are looking for candidates based in Northern California (preferred) or Washington State

What you will be doing:

• Identify and cultivate new travel agencies or advisors focusing on strategic accounts within preferred consortia or host account affiliations
• Manage existing relationships with accounts to continuously maximize their performance
• Develop a sales strategy to achieve the sales growth targets for your territory prioritizing agencies by existing productivity and growth potential
• Serve as primary point of contact for accounts and Advisors in your assigned territory
• Participate in tradeshows and sales events in your territory and national events as needed. Participate and host familiarization trips. Coordinate and manage travel, tradeshow and FAM attendance in conjunction with the VP of Sales & Partnerships and Strategic Host Account Manager.
• Use Hubspot as required for the management of customers and internal communications
• Work closely with group & FIT inside sales teams to improve contacts and strengthen sales efforts
• Assist with resolution of customer service issues and communicate service-related feedback to management
• Provide input for the creation of sales collateral, webinars, sales presentations, emails, newsletters and communicate initiatives coordinated by the marketing team
• Maintain advisor database to ensure updated and accurate information for marketing initiatives
• Prepare and update sales and territory plans as the need arises
• Manage travel expense and discretionary marketing budgets per policies and complete expense and trip reports as the need arises

What we are looking for:

• Minimum of 3+ years in the travel industry, with demonstrated success in a sales role managing a multi-state territory, agency accounts and territory development. Experience and relationships with travel consortia advisors/agencies and Host Agency consultants (ICs) required.
• Strong commercial competence, including understanding of wholesale tour operations, including commission structures, marketing plans, incentives, and overrides preferred
• Knowledge of Europe leisure travel market and destinations preferred
• Excellent public speaking skills and comfort delivering live and virtual presentations to individual agencies, large audiences, video calls and webinars
• Familiarization with Microsoft Office (especially strong in PowerPoint + Excel), software programs for presentations (including GOTO webinars preferred)
• Familiarization with Hubspot preferred and different social media platforms
• Frequent overnight domestic travel and infrequent international travel required (encouraged to be in the field 3.5-4 days most weeks)
