Job Title: General Manager - Structural Steel Operations
Location: Surprise, Arizona

Our organization, a dynamic and rapidly growing operator of diversified industrial businesses in metals, manufacturing, distribution, and logistics, is currently seeking a General Manager for our Structural Steel Operations.
Job Overview:
Reporting to the Group President, the General Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing all facets of the structural steel facility. This leadership position requires a strategic focus on operational excellence, production optimization, and driving financial objectives. The successful candidate will have a profound understanding of the structural steel market, experience in mergers and acquisitions, and a proven track record in managing large Profit and Loss (P&L) as well as leading large teams across different divisions.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Operations Management:
- Direct and optimize facility operations, ensuring seamless production processes.
- Implement strategies to enhance productivity, minimize downtime, and reduce production costs.
2. Strategic Planning and Business Development:
- Identify new business opportunities in the structural steel market.
- Utilize mergers and acquisitions experience to drive growth strategies.
3. Customer Relations and Sales Growth:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
- Implement sales strategies aligned with business objectives to drive revenue growth.
4. Team Leadership and Divisional Collaboration:
- Manage large teams across different divisions, fostering collaboration and synergy.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between various departments.
5. Continuous Improvement:
- Drive initiatives for safety, team member relations, quality, and cost reduction.
- Administer company policies, directing department activities to achieve strategic objectives.
6. Supply Chain, Quality Control, and Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels to meet production demands.
- Establish and enforce quality control standards for structural steel products.
7. Safety and Compliance:
- Implement and monitor safety protocols to minimize accidents and incidents.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and environmental standards.
Position Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related fields. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
- Extensive experience in large P&L management.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions.
- Experience in implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement strategies.
- Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Financial acumen with budget management experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
