About the role:
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for the daily engagements and oversight of Boston Scientific North America domestic and international transportation shipments and spend. The Specialist will have direct involvement with transportation providers and key BSC stakeholders. This position will be integral in ensuring Boston Scientific hits KPI metrics and adherence to transportation performance standards. This position will work inside of the global transportation team and be a primary contact for tactical transportation decisions and solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Direct Interaction with freight carriers (domestic and international) to monitor lane performance.
- Manage, analyze, and report on inbound and outbound transportation activities and costs.
- Drive optimization and collaboration with key stakeholders within the logistics network to increase efficiencies and on time service to BSC.
- Build solutions to track multiple transportation KPIs.
- Performs analysis, identifies root cause, and recommends corrective action utilizing transportation carrier and related information.
- Identify and resolve systematic problems between the carriers, vendors, and BSC logistics stakeholders.
- Conducts analysis of alternate methods of transportation and programs, along with projected cost and service.
- Utilize technology, systems, and business intelligence tools to oversee reporting and dashboards.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide cost effective transportation solutions to meet business needs.
- Provide support as necessary for the on-going management of all carriers and 3PL service providers, such as participation in Quarterly Business Reviews, Weekly Meetings, and relationship management activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Work Experience (Minimum 5 years’ experience in transportation, logistics supply chain management or related field)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in transportation, logistics supply chain management or related field
- Experience with outsourced transportation management and multiple modes of delivery
- Experience with utilizing dashboards generated from Tableau, Power BI, and other Business Intelligence and Analytics Software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with medical device, healthcare, or high technology products/services.
- Proactive self-starter with strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong ability to communicate thoughts and solutions while displaying partnering skills with stakeholders.
- Results driven with quick response mentality.
